Simon Walton (born Leeds, United Kingdom, 13 September 1987) is a football player. A defender in his youth days, he plays now in midfield, currently for Leeds United F.C. in the Football League Championship. He is best known for his debut in preseason last year, against Spanish Giants Valencia, when he scored a penalty, then was sent off for two bookable offences, while still 16.
He has been likened to former Elland Road heroes Alan Smith and David Batty, with whom he shares tenacity and "Leeds blood" in his veins. He scored three goals in his first season and is a bright part of Leeds United's future as it continues to rebuild in its attempt to return to the FA Premiership.
