Neil Mellor (born November 4, 1982 in Sheffield, England) is a professional football player, currently playing for Liverpool F.C. Mellor, a striker, was loaned to West Ham United but was recalled to the senior Liverpool team in 2004.
He made his name in 2004 by scoring a last-minute goal to give Liverpool a 2-1 victory over Arsenal F.C. at Anfield. Mellor also scored a goal during Liverpool's match with Olympiakos at Anfield during the group stage of the 2004-05 UEFA Champions League, which Liverpool went on to win.
He was injured for latter third of the 2004-05 campaign and remains under treatment at the start of the 2005-06 season.
In the 2004/5 season he scored one of the goals of the season, hitting a thirty-yard first-time injury-time effort past Arsenal F.C. goalkeeper Jens Lehmann.
