James McEveley (born November 2, 1985 in Liverpool, England) is an English football player who currently plays for Blackburn Rovers F.C. as a left-back.
Having started his career with Everton F.C. as a youngster, he soon moved to Blackburn and was seen as a star in the making. He made his debut for the club against Walsall F.C. as part of a 2-2 draw in the League Cup.
An England under-21 international, McEveley was loaned to Burnley F.C. in December 2003 to ensure a more regular starting place, and to gain some more experience. Between December 11 and January 6, he made six appearances for Burnley before suffering a knee injury and going back to Blackburn at the beginning of 2004. Since then he has been a quieter figure, but still has made, and will continue to make, reasonable impact.
In late August 2005 he was loaned to Ipswich Town.
