Nelson Rodrigues (1912-1980), was a Brazilian writer born in Pernambuco. His father, a journalist for Jornal do Recife, had problems with a powerful politician in Pernambuco and because of this the family moved up to Rio de Janeiro in 1916.
Rodrigues wrote his first article in 1928 in his father's newspaper Correio da Manhã (Brazil). After that, he never stopped writing; his work includes innumerable newspaper articles, theater parts, romances, and stories.
