Basil Poledouris (born August 21, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri) is a film soundtrack composer.
Presenting a powerful style, almost epic-sounding, he became one of the most remarkable composers due to his works on the soundtracks of Conan the Barbarian (1982), Conan the Destroyer (1984), RoboCop (1987), The Hunt for Red October (1990) and Starship Troopers (1997).
