Brent Butt (Born: August 3, 1966) is a Canadian comedian and writer, born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, who is most famous for his role as Brent LeRoy on the series Corner Gas, a series he created which airs on CTV in Canada. The series was an instant hit on Canadian TV when it debuted in early 2004; its second season launched in October 2004. Butt was one of several cast members who travelled across Canada to promote the series during the fall of 2004, pumping free gasoline at service stations. The series has been renewed for a third season.

Brent has also done several standup performances for both the CBC radio series Definitely Not the Opera and the Comedy Network in Canada (which airs reruns of Corner Gas). His prairie oriented comedy and occasional "folkish" song compositions (such as the now classic "Nothing Rhymes with Saskatchewan") have entertained audiences across Canada.

Brent started out his career in the [Yuk Yuk's] chain in Western Canada, before moving to Toronto in 1989, where he set up shop in a Cabbagetown apartment with two other comedians. Dubbed the "Fish Palace", the apartment was around the corner from Brent's favorite deli, the Steerburger. In Toronto, Brent worked in the Yuk Yuk's chain before leaving and becoming one of the most successful "independent" comedians in Canada, setting the stage for many other "yuksters" to leave.

On May 19, 2005, Butt hosted a Command Performance gala for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to celebrate the Canadian province of Saskatchewan's centennial. Highlights of the program included Butt performing "Nothing Rhymes with Saskatchewan" and trading jokes with Leslie Nielsen.

Butt is currently engaged to be married to fellow Corner Gas star Nancy Robertson.
