Eve Arden (April 30, 1908–November 12, 1990) was an American actress born as Eunice Quedens in Mill Valley, California, which is just north of San Francisco, California.

She performed on stage, making her Broadway debut in 1934. She played in many movies, including most recently Grease and Grease 2, in which she played the principal, and earlier in her career as Joan Crawford's pal in Mildred Pierce, and as James Stewart's wistful secretary in Anatomy of a Murder.

She was also the star of Our Miss Brooks, a sitcom which aired on both radio (1948 - 1952), television (1952 - 1956), and in a 1956 feature film. She played the role of Connie Brooks, an English teacher in Madison High School. She also appeared with Kaye Ballard in the 1967-1969 sitcom, The Mothers-In-Law, which was produced by her old friend Desi Arnaz after the dissolution of Desilu. In 1967 she won the Sarah Siddons Award for her work in Chicago theatre. For her contribution to the industry, she has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6714 Hollywood Blvd.

She was first married to Ned Bergen from 1939 to 1947, when they divorced; she later was married to Brooks West from 1952 until his death in 1984 from a heart ailment, and they had 4 children, 3 of whom were adopted.

Eve Arden died of cancer and heart disease at home in Los Angeles, California at the age of 82, and was interred in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Westwood, California.
