Sidney Toler (April 28, 1874-February 12, 1947) was an actor and writer.

He was born in Warrensburg, Missouri and he died in Los Angeles, California from intestinal cancer.

He was married to Viva Tattersall. Toler was the second non-Asian actor to play the role of Charlie Chan. Sidney Toler was of primarily Scottish ancestry.
