Career and Biography

Kristen Stewart was born on April 9, 1990 in Colorado, USA. Miss Stewart’s father, John Stewart is a TV producer who works at FOX TV. John Stewart currently co-produces "On-Air with Ryan Seacrest". Kristen Stewart is an avid surfer and lives with her older brother Cameron and parents in Los Angeles. She stands at 5 feet 3 inches and is reportedly shy in real life. Miss Stewart got her big break in the 2002 movie, Panic Room. Originally, Nicole Kidman and another girl were supposed to be the main characters, but Nichole Kidman dropped out and Jodie Foster was hired. Kristen Stewart was cast in the role partly because she bears a striking resemblance to Jodie Foster. Although Panic Room was not received well by critics, Stewart obtained positive reviews.

Following Panic Room, Stewart played the daughter of a couple that move into a haunted house in the movie Cold Creek Manor (2003). To date, Stewart’s most critically acclaimed role is her role in the movie Speak (2004). Speak was filmed for 21 days in Columbus, Ohio in August 2003. Stewart, only 13 at the time of filming, plays a high school freshman who is raped and has to deal with emotional turmoil. The role was particularly difficult because the main character has very few speaking lines. Stewart has received great praise for her expressions and wonderful portrayal of teenage emotions without saying many words. Stewart is currently working on a new film and will be seen in theatres in November of 2005 in the film Zathura. This young actress looks to have a promising future in the movie business.
