Patrice Rushen (born September 30, 1954 in Los Angeles, California) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, composer, and pianist. She is one of the only women to have served as musical director for the Emmy Awards, and the only woman to have served as musical director for the People's Choice Awards. Her hit 1982 song "Forget Me Nots" was later used as a basis for Will Smith's theme for the 1997 film Men in Black.
