From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Michel Camilo (1954 - ) is a pianist and composer from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
He was classically trained at the National Conservatory and then became a member of the National Symphony Orchestra at age 16.
Camilo moved to the United States in 1979, where he continued to study music at Mannes School of Music and the Juilliard School of Music.
He has written several top-rated Latin Jazz albums including:
