From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Rudolph Isley (born April 1, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio) was one of the original members of the legendary family music group, The Isley Brothers. After forming the group as a gospel quartet in 1954, he forever remained in the background and often shared lead vocals with brother Ronald, who would eventually become the vocal and focal point of the group. Rudolph performed with his brothers for a total of 35 years eventually leaving the group in 1989 to become a minister. Rudolph's whoops is remembered in the group's earlier songs like "Shout" and "Twist & Shout". Rudolph was inducted with his brothers to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. In 2004, he briefly reunited with his brothers Ronald and Ernie to receive the group's Lifetime Achievement Award from the BET Awards. He remains a minister and is currently spending quiet time with his wife Elaine.
