This article is about a British newscaster. For the Song of Ice and Fire character, see Jon Snow (A Song of Ice and Fire).

Jon Snow (born September 28, 1947 in Ardingly, Sussex) is a British television newscaster on Channel 4 News, produced by ITN.

His father was an Anglican clergyman and schoolteacher, and he was brought up at Ardingly College, a minor public school where his father was headmaster. His father would later become Bishop of Whitby.

Of his A level results he said "I sat two first time round and failed one and got a C in English. I think it was geography I failed, then I went to a tech and sat economics and law and got a D and an E." He then studied law at the University of Liverpool but was rusticated for his part in a sit-in, and never returned to complete his degree.

After working for New Horizon Youth Centre, a day centre for young drug addicts in central London, he joined the radio station LBC as a journalist, before joining ITN in 1976. He served as ITN's Diplomatic Editor and Washington correspondent before becoming the main presenter of Channel 4 News in 1989. He has won several RTS Awards - two for reports from El Salvador, one for his reporting of the Kegworth air disaster, and two as "Presenter of the Year".

He is the cousin of Peter Snow, the BBC television news presenter, and is well-known for his individual style and loud patterned silk neckties. He is a supporter of Brighton and Hove Albion F.C., and wore the official club tie for a number of broadcasts in the run up to the Second Division Playoff Final in 2004. He has remained involved with New Horizon and is now its chairman. He also holds the ceremonial post of chancellor of Oxford Brookes University.
