Lev Vladimirovich Kuleshov (Лев Владимирович Кулешов; 13 January (O.S. 1 January) 1899 in Tambov - 29 March 1970 in Moscow) was a Russian filmmaker known for his work on film editing and the impact it has on the viewers. The Kuleshov Experiment showed the ability of viewers to associate emotions with images. This and other techniques were explored by Kuleshov in his work in Marxist film theory.
