From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Raymond Williams (1921 - 1988) was a highly influential Welsh academic, novelist and critic. He attended Trinity College, Cambridge and then taught for many years in adult education before becoming Professor of Drama at the University of Cambridge (1974 - 1983). A committed socialist, he was greatly interested in the relationships between language, literature, and society and published many books, essays and articles on these and other issues. His books include:
