Victor Garber

Victor Joseph Garber, born March 16, 1949, in London, Ontario, Canada, is a film, stage, and television actor of Russian Jewish descent.

Garber began acting at the age of nine, joining the University of Toronto's Hart House at age fifteen. In 1967 he formed a folk band called The Sugar Shoppe. The group found mild success, even performing on The Ed Sullivan Show and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson before breaking up.

He has worked in various American and Canadian movies and television, such as James Cameron's Titanic (1997), where he played the RMS Titanic's shipbuilder Thomas Andrews. Other well-known appearances include Godspell (1973), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), Legally Blonde (2001), and Tuck Everlasting (2002).

He appeared on Broadway in the original productions of Deathtrap, Sweeney Todd, and Noises Off.

His mother, Hope Garber, was also an actor and singer. After moving her to Los Angeles, California, Victor is also her caregiver since her Alzheimer's Disease was diagnosed.

Since 2001, Garber has played the role of Jack Bristow in J.J. Abrams's television series Alias alongside Ron Rifkin, Jennifer Garner (who plays his daughter), and Lena Olin (as his former wife).
