Richard "Ross" Harris (b. 1969) is an American actor and artist.

Acting career

Born in 1969 in Ventura, California, Ross Harris began acting at age 6. He appeared in over 100 commercials in the 1970's. In 1979, at the age of 10, Ross landed the role of Joey in the classic comedy feature film "Airplane" with Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Ross went on to co-star in the Academy-nominated drama "Testament" as well as roles on "Love Boat", "Chips", "Little House on the Prairie", "Hart to Hart", "T.J. Hooker" and many more.

Music career

In the 1990's Ross began to work in the music industry. He directed the music video for Elliott Smith's Academy-nominated song "Miss Misery" from the "Good Will Hunting" soundtrack. Ross was the photographer for Beck's first two albums and performed on them as well, including the Grammy-winning "Odeley".

These successes allowed him to begin yet another career as a record producer, recording works for Virgin, Capitol and Polygram. As a remixer he has worked for Beth Orton, Beck, The Dust Brothers, The Prodigy, Fantastic Plastic Machine and many others. His music has been featured on "Malcolm in the Middle", "Roswell" and "Kissing Jessica Stein".

As a performer he has traveled as far as Moscow and Tokyo to play to a growing underground audience.

Last year saw the release of his first feature film that he wrote and co-starred in for Propaganda films, "The Southlander". It stars Rory Cochrane from "CSI Miami", Lawrence Hilton Jacobs III from "Welcome Back Kotter", Laura Prepon from "That 70's Show", Beck, Hank Williams III and the final recorded live performance of legendary jazz drummer Billy Higgins.

Current projects

He is now readying for the summer release of a benefit album for autistic charities that pays tribute to legendary children's electronic music pioneers Bruce Haack and Esther Nelson. The album features a song by Beck which is produced and engineered by Ross. The project also includes songs and remixes by Stereolab, Eels, Money Mark, Apples in Stereo and many more.

Ross produced and compiled the project. Bringing it to fruition was the culmination of over 5 years of work.

In addition to this, Ross is currently developing a music-oriented television show called "Jamming" and already runs a related website www.ilovejamming.com.

He is writing another screenplay and developing a documentary with Dave England. Ross is releasing a solo E.P. under the name Rossangeles in early 2005 on Somis sound recordings.

Personal

Ross is the proud father of 2 children and lives in Southern California with his lovely wife. He plays basketball daily and likes to "get as funky as possible for a white boy".
