This article is about an American football player. For information on the former Governor of the Bank of England, see Edward George, Baron George.

Edward Nathan George, Jr. (born September 24, 1973 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a former American football running back of the NFL. He played for the Tennessee Titans and the Dallas Cowboys.

After attending Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, George starred at Ohio State University. He won the Heisman Trophy and the Maxwell Award in 1995. Following the season, he was the first-round draft selection of the Houston Oilers (now the Tennessee Titans).

George won the NFL Rookie of the Year award in 1996, and was the Titans' starting tailback until 2003, never missing a start due to injury.

George signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys on July 23, 2004 for $1.5 million plus incentives that could earn him more than the $4.25 million he would have made under his contract with the Titans, who released him on July 21 due to their salary cap. He is out of football as of the 2005 NFL season; though he has not yet announced his retirement, it is unlikely he will ever play again.

His career totals include 10441 rushing yards, 68 rushing touchdowns, and 10 recieving touchdowns.

On June 20, 2004, he married singer Tamara Johnson of the group SWV. He has a son, Jaire, by a previous relationship.

Beginning this November 15, George will begin hosting a new series on G4TV called Training Camp.
