From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia

Howard Bailey, Jr. (born on March 9, 1980 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an African American hip-hop artist. A former member of the Disturbing Tha Peace collective with Ludacris, Chingy came into the spotlight on his own with his single "Right Thurr" from his album, Jackpot. After the success of "Right Thurr", "Holidae Inn", featuring Snoop Dogg and Ludacris, climbed the charts, followed by "One Call Away" featuring J-Weav. In 2004, he released a new album entitled Powerballin', featuring the single "Balla Baby". He was also featured in the song "I Like That" by the Rapper Houston. Chingy currently has an ongoing feud with local rapper Nelly, also from his hometown of St. Louis (University City, MO). Chingy claims Nelly has stolen Chingy's signature lines and placed them in his albums. Chingy frequently mentions St. Louis in his music and represents his hometown.
