Shavar Ross (born 1971) is an African-American actor born in New York City. His parents separated when he was 6 years old. His mother took Shavar and his sister to Macon, Georgia, while his father went to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
In 1980, Ross landed his first recurring television role, as Gary Coleman's best friend on Diff'rent Strokes. Two years later, he became a voice actor for Hanna-Barbera.
In 1996, Ross founded The Alive Church, a non-denominational Christian church in Los Angeles, and was its pastor for four years. He now operates his own entertainment production company, Tri-Seven Entertainment. He has been married for 12 years and has two children.
