From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Mr. Dalvin (born Dalvin DeGrate on July 23, 1971 in Charlotte, North Carolina) is an African-American R&B/soul musician and rapper, one-quarter of the R&B group Jodeci. He is the younger brother of Jodeci founder DeVante Swing.
The rapper for the group, Mr. Dalvin rarely sung lead on Jodeci tracks, although he took production and songwriting credits on Diary of A Mad Band and The Show, The After Party, The Hotel.
After Jodeci's hiatus in 1996, he dated Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins of the female R&B group TLC. He also released his solo debut, Met.A.Mor.Phic on April 18, 2000, which spawned the minor hit "Why Can't We".
He has gone on to produce tracks a number of other artists, including Brandy Norwood's younger brother Ray-J.
