John Simm (b.1970, Leeds) is a British actor. He grew up in Nelson, Lancashire.

He appeared in a number of British TV shows such as Cracker and in the unsuccessful film Boston Kickout before appearing in the televsion series The Lakes and in the popular film Human Traffic. He also starred in the acclaimed 2003 Paul Abbott serial State of Play. His most famous part was playing Bernard Sumner from Joy Division and New Order fame in the 2002 flim 24 Hour Party People, starring alongside Ralf Little and Steve Coogan.
