From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia John Tesh (born July 9, 1952) is an American new age/contemporary Christian musician.
He was born on Long Island, New York. Tesh studied communications at North Carolina State University but was expelled for cheating. At NC State, he was a brother of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
His television career included a stint as a news anchor at WTVF in Nashville, Tennessee in the 1970s, where he was often partnered with Oprah Winfrey. He hosted the television show Entertainment Tonight from 1986 to 1996.
He has been married since 1992 to actress Connie Sellecca.
He currently has a nationally-syndicated radio show called Intelligence For Your Life, which plays "1980s, 1990s, and today's soft rock" music, interspersed with various factoids and other information Tesh considers useful to listeners, often with topics such as health and well-being.
John Tesh's most memorable piece as a musician is arguably the instrumential theme music (a/k/a "Roundball Rock") for The NBA on NBC from 1990 to 2002. He also scored the background and theme music for the NBC coverage of the Tour de France.
Tesh is very tall, standing around 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m).
