From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia
Serafim Sergeyevich Tulikov, (Russian: Серафим Сергеевич Туликов; July 7, 1914 - January 29, 2004), was a Russian composer who was born in the Imperial Russia, and passed away in the Russian Federation. He was often credited as S. Tulikov, in his musical works and his cameo appearance in Russian television series. Serafim Tulikov is well-remembered for his recherché composition of Lenin is Always With You, a Soviet revolutionary tune, depicting the continuity of the Soviet Union, saying, "Lenin will always live amongst the heart of the peoples."
Early Years
Serafim Tulikov was born in Kaluga to the family of bookkeeper Grigoriya Boboedova. Both parents of Serafim were active in choirs during their youth, and Serafim was deeply manifested with music as an infant and as a young Russian. He was eventually enrolled into the Kaluga Academy of Music, and at the age of 18, he had been to renowned conservatoires in Russia.
A Promising Composer
Serafim was first credited as a composer in 1951, when he composed We Are for the World. The musical piece will hereafter receive the Stalinskuiu award in The Worldwide Festival of Youth and Students in Berlin. Before fame, Serafim wrote at least 10 patriotic songs that praise the Soviet motherland. He later confessed that the songs were inspired by his homeland, Kaluga, and most of the elements within the songs were present in Kaluga. Other than grand patriotic tunes, Serafim too composed some of very beautiful Russian songs, such as Never to Repeat Such and Dear Women.
Fame
Lenin is Always With You shot Serafim to fame. A song depicting the ever-lasting love for Lenin, and expressing that Lenin will always be remembered in the Russian peoples heart. Lenin is Always With You is somewhat a different genre of Soviet patriotic tunes, with much resemblence to national hymns, with grand orchestra accompliance.
Serafim then began to compose May the Stories of Dusoi Veterans Never Age.
Late Years
Serafim's tunes were well-memorised in the hearts of Russians, even after his death. He is survived by his daughter and grandsons.
