James Sidney Jones (17 June 1861 - 29 January 1946) was an Islington-born composer most famous for producing the scores for several musical comedies in the late Victorian period. His best known works include The Geisha, A Greek Slave and San Toy.

Jones' father was Musical Director of the Grand Theatre in Leeds and he gained his first professional experience playing clarionet in his father's band. He went on to tour internationally with numerous musical theater companies and productions as a director, conductor, and composer. Back in London, he composed prolifically for the light opera company of George Edwardes at the Gaeity Theatre.

After a string of hits throughout the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, Jones fell victim to changing musical fashions and retired from composition in 1913.
