Profile of Kim Sønderholm Andersen on Famous Like Me

Kim Andersen was born 2 October 1958 in Denmark. He is a former professional rider in road bicycle racing, who later became a sports director, since 2004 for Team CSC.

In 1983 he became the first Dane to wear the yellow jersey in Tour de France, and later won stage in that race. He has also sported stage wins in Vuelta a España, Quarte Jours de Dunkerque, Ronde van Nederland, Midi Libre and Tour de Suisse, as well as numerous individual wins, 31 during his career.

Kim Andersen was tested positive for doping in 1987, and was banned or life, a sentence that was later changed to a one year quarantaine. In 1992 he was tested positive again, and fired from his team. He rode as an individual for the rest of the year, before finally retiring.
