Jonathan M. Parisen (born December 26, 1971) New York City filmmaker who wrote, produced and directed the first 9/11 dramatization entitled "Stairwell: Trapped In The World Trade Center".
Parisen directed four feature films 800 (1998) The only film dealing with the 1996 TWA flight 800 disaster over Long Island, New York. The Atomic Space Bug (1999) a horror film that paid tribute to the horror films of the 1950's and starred b-movie legend Conrad Brooks (Ed Wood's "Plan 9 From Outer Space.) Stairwell: Trapped In The World Trade Center(2002) the first 9/11 dramatization and in 2005 Parisen completed A Conversation With Norman which was Parisen's long awaited tribute to Alfred HItchcock's Psycho (1960). A Conversation With Norman premiered in New York City on July 13th 2005, just three days short of the original New York premiere of "Psycho" 45 years earlier. In 1997 Parisen co-wrote "Class Of Nuke 'Em High Part 4" the still unproduced sequel to the popular Troma Studios series " Class Of Nuke 'Em High" Parisen serves on the board of The Rec-Youth Multimedia film festival ( film festival showcasing youth produced movies) which occurs once a year at Tribecca Cinemas in New York City. Parisen also works as an instructor of Journalism and Televsion performance at The Connecticut Schools Of Broadcasting.
In 2003 and 2004 Parisen worked as a television reporter for Time Warner Cable in New York City. He covered such stories as the Port Mobil Explosion in February of 2003, the blackout of August 2003 and The Staten Island Ferry Crash in October of 2003. Parisen is currently at work on two films, one is about the Staten Island Ferry Crash entitled Crash Of The Barberi (Starring Tom Loggins, Grace Orosz and Eddie Lentol) Parisen will be using news footage that he shot while covering the story in the film. The other film entitled, "Malfunction" is about a NASA love triangle and a rocket that is puposely destroyed to eliminate an astronaut who is part of that triangle. Both films are due out in 2006.
