Jakob Dylan (born December 9, 1969) is the lead singer and songwriter of the rock band The Wallflowers, whose famous hit, "One Headlight" brought them into the spotlight. He is the youngest of four children born to popular songwriter Bob Dylan and ex-wife Sara Dylan.

It has been reported that he does not like his famous father to be mentioned around him while on tour or working on his own music in general. This is not because of animosity between the two, as is widely assumed, but more because he wants to make his own name for himself. He and his father, do, in fact, get along, but like his father he prefers to keep private life out of the public eye.

Jakob Dylan plays guitar and sings in his band, The Wallflowers. They started out playing at Canter's delicatessen in the Fairfax District, Los Angeles, California. Many other aspiring rockers played there, jamming in to the night. Due to Jakob's talent, he could not help but get picked up by a major record company. The band signed to Virgin Records and made a self-titled album that had a picture of all the band members feet on the cover, as well as the drummer, Peter Yanowitz' pet dog.

The Wallflowers played roots rock, but their timing could not have been worse because the early 1990s were all about the Grunge music. No one wanted to hear young Jakob's 8-minute folk meanderings, in a world of bone crushing 3-minute power rock songs. Not to be left behind, you can see Jakob and Co. sporting flannels in many publicity photos around this time. The grunge kids were not buying it - yet.

After they were released from Virgin Records, the band regrouped and played around Los Angeles. With the help of their manager Andrew Slater, the band quickly secured a new major label record deal, this time with Interscope records. They recorded the album "Bringing Down The Horse" with the incredible producer T-Bone Burnett. T-Bone helped refine Jakob's songwriting and arranging and the result was a masterpiece. The album yielded several singles and most notably, the hit One Headlight. This song was very popular and the band performed it on Saturday Night Live. Nowadays, Jakob and The Wallfowers have been making new albums and playing concerts.
