From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Goran BunjevÄević (Serbian Cyrillic: Горан Буњевчевић) (born February 17, 1973 in Karlovac) is a professional Serbian football (soccer) player who plays as a defender. He currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur.
BunjevÄević started his career at Rad and Red Star Belgrade, the latter for which he won League and League Cup trophies. The Serbia and Montenegro international suffered badly with injuries in his first season at Tottenham, sustaining a fractured cheekbone early in his career against Chelsea.
BunjevÄević's second season was relatively injury-free and Glenn Hoddle picked Goran in a number of positions in the first team - central defence, left-back, left wing-back and as the midfield anchor man.
Since Hoddle's departure in 2003, the player has found first team games hard to come by. His ability at Premiership level is widely questioned by Tottenham Hotspur fans, and it seems unlikely that he will regain his place in the team under coach Martin Jol.
