Rachel Moore, known as Ran Mori (æ¯›åˆ©ã€€è˜ MÅri Ran) in Japan, is a fictional character in the anime and manga Case Closed (known in Japan as Detective Conan).
Rachel is the childhood friend of Jimmy Kudo (Shin'ichi Kudo) and the daughter of private detective Richard Moore (Kogoro Mori) and Eva Kadan (Eri Kisaki), a lawyer. Her parents are separated, and one of her biggest goals is to get them back together. Rachel is the captain of the karate team of her high school and therefore is very powerful. She frequently gets angry at Jimmy and has thrashed around hard objects.
After Jimmy disappears, a boy named Conan Edogawa comes to stay with Rachel, acting as her surrogate little brother. Little does Rachel know that "Conan" is actually Jimmy shrunken down to size. Shortly after meeting him, she reveals her true feelings about Jimmy to him. In time Rachel suspects that he is actually Jimmy but Jimmy always manages to "prove" to her otherwise.
Rachel's Japanese name comes from Maurice LebLanc.
Jimmy and Rachel make a cameo appearance in InuYasha episode 128 .
