Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Moore attended Middlesex School, Belmont Hill School. Another book, The Khaki Mafia, written with June Collins, gives a fictional account of the Vietnam service club scandal involving Sergeant Major of the Army William O. Wooldridge and others.
