Joe Klecko (born October 15, 1953) is a former American Football defensive end who played for the New York Jets (1977-1987), and the Indianapolis Colts (1988). He is currently the Jets all time leading sack holder but is threatened by two all pro defensive ends on the current Jet line John Abraham and Sean Ellis. His son, Dan, plays for the New England Patriots. Dan is a defensive lineman just like his father. Klecko also has a small role in the 1981 film Cannonball Run.
On Monday, September 13, 2005, Joe Klecko accidentally hit and killed Ray Peterson, a 65-year-old man pushing a grocery cart, with his car while on the Major Deegan Expressway. No charges have been filed.
