Biography
Leeanna's family include her dad Bob, a real estate agent, and mum Elaine, who works with her son David in their importing and wholesaling business.
Leeanna on leaving school at 16: "The day I told my parents that I didn't want to go on to year 12. I had this big speech prepared because I thought they'd scream and shout about me making the biggest mistake in the world. I never liked school and although learning is interesting to me, it got to the point where I just refused (to learn) because I didn't like my surroundings. I'd always forget my homework and never hand anything in on time. I was over it all, I just wanted to get out there and act. Mum and Dad said it was fine with them, as long as I made a promise to pursue it and not sit at home and do nothing, and I did, and I am."
Her theatre credits includes: The Shape Of Things for the Sydney Theatre Company (STC) co-starring Brendan Cowell (Jan 2003); The Cosmonaut's Last Message To The Woman He Once Loved In The Former Soviet Union at Belvoir St. Theatre (Feb-Mar 2002); playing the junkie muse to Robyn Nevin's artist in the STC production of Old Masters (Oct-Nov 2001); The Recruit (Jan 2000) also featuring John Howard, Christopher Stollery, Conrad Coleby, Genevieve Lemon, Drew Forsythe, & Brendan Cowell; & her breakthrough performance in La Dispute (May 2000) also starring Rose Byrne, David Field, Rhondda Findleton & Justine Saunders.
