From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia
Christopher Sean Lowe (born on October 4, 1959 in Blackpool, Lancashire, United Kingdom) is a British musician, who, with his colleague Neil Tennant, makes up the successful pop duo, the Pet Shop Boys.
Childhood
At school, Lowe played trombone in a seven piece dance band called One Under The Eight, who played old-time popular favourites like "Hello Dolly", "La Bamba", and "Moon River". Chris Lowe's grandfather had been a successful trombonist and was a member of comedy jazz troupe The Nitwits.
Later life
Lowe studied architecture at University of Liverpool from 1978, and during a work placement in 1981 at London architectural practice, he designed a staircase for an industrial estate in Milton Keynes. It was during this work placement the he met Neil Tennant in an electrical retailer on the King's Road in London.
Chris Lowe is notoriously private about his personal life. There have been many rumours such as he was in a relationship with Pete Andreas, the Pet Shop Boys personal assistant who died of AIDS, but nothing has been confirmed by Chris Lowe himself.
In 1995 he had a cameo in the Australian soap opera Neighbours.
