From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Roscoe Born (born November 24, 1950) is an American actor.
He has appearanced on soap operas such as Ryan's Hope (playing Joe Novak), Santa Barbara (playing twins Robert Barr and Quinn Armitage), All My Children, and Guiding Light, but, he is famously remembered as murderer, rapist, and con man Mitch Laurence on the ABC soap opera, One Life to Live (1985-1987, 2002-2003).
Some critics say that he has been typecast as a psychopath as this is the type of character he has played on at least three television shows (One Life to Live, All My Children and Family Passions). In 1997 Born walked out of his role on AMC, prompting an emergency recast as well as rumors that Born would never find a job in daytime again. After spending time away from acting (at one point he even pushed carts in a hospital), Born returned to daytime in 1999. He garnered small parts on a few soaps until his 2002 OLTL return.
In addition to acting, Born is also a songwriter. He sang on The City, and a song he wrote called Bury My Own Bones was featured in an episode of One Life to Live in 2003.
Since 2005, Born joined the cast as Tom Fisher on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless.
