From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia
Aaron Charles Carter (born December 7, 1987) is an American pop singer. He is the younger brother of Nick Carter of the boy band Backstreet Boys. He also has a twin sister, Angel Carter, who is a model and two other siblings, Bobbie Jean Carter and Leslie Carter. His mother, Jane Spaulding, is a Mayflower descendant and is of Welsh, Irish, German, Blackfoot Indian and English ancestry, while father Bob Carter is of Jewish heritage. He plays the drums, piano, guitar and saxophone.
He released his first album at the age of nine. The eponymous debut album Aaron Carter was a great success in Germany. His second album, Aaron's Party, was released in the United States under the JIVE Label. While the album did moderately well commercially, "Aaron's Party" was considered by many music critics to have juvenile lyrics and substandard singing.
Despite the critical condemnation, Play Along Toys released an Aaron Carter Doll and his third album, Another Earthquake was released in 2003. A fourth album is planned to be released in 2005, featuring the current new single "Saturday Night".
Aaron Carter has also dated Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan, which resulted in a high profile feud between the two actresses (Carter himself has remained silent on the controversy surrounding their feud).
Since his parents' divorce, he has lived with his father Bob Carter in Marathon, Florida.
