Porl Thompson (born November 8, 1957) is an English musician best known for his work with The Cure.

Porl was part of the original lineup when the band was first formed in 1976, however, he was dropped by the time they began producing their debut album, Three Imaginary Boys in 1978. He rejoined the band in 1984 on saxophone, and helped produce the album The Top. Afterwards, he took up lead guitar for the next four albums Head On The Door, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, Disintegration, and Wish. Porl is also the founder of Parched Art, which has produced many of the record sleeves found on The Cure albums.

Porl left the band in 1993 to play with Robert Plant and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. He also left to spend more time with his family. Intrestingly enough, Porl is married to Janet Smith, younger sister of The Cure frontman Robert Smith.

Porl rejoined the band for a third time in June 2005.
