Virgil Patrick "Pat" Hughes (born May 27, 1955 in Tucson, Arizona) is the play-by-play baseball announcer for the Chicago Cubs, working for WGN radio. He currently is in his 10th year of partnership with color commentator Ron Santo, former All-Star third baseman for the Chicago Cubs. Prior to that, he spent 12 years calling games for the Milwaukee Brewers with the legendary broadcaster Bob Uecker. Hughes is also the radio play-by-play man for Marquette University basketball, having finished his 16th year this past winter.

Pat and Ron, as the Hughes-Santo team is affectionately known by fans, are among the most popular announcing teams in baseball, and many Cubs fans will watch the game on TV, but turn the sound down, and listen to the commentary from Pat and Ron on the radio. They are loved because they are personable and make lots of interesting comments during games about stats and other such things. Their good-natured rivalry over the attendance game, in which each man guesses the crowd at that day's ball game, is one example of what makes them fun to listen to.

Hughes' work has earned him the Illinois Sportscaster of the Year award in 1996 and 1999, in addition to three Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year awards from 1990-92.

Andy Mazur and Matt Boltz can be heard on broadcasts as the WGN Sports Guy and engineer, respectively. Andy does parts of the 7th inning.
