Jamie-Lynn Sigler

Jamie-Lynn Sigler (born May 15, 1981 in Jericho, New York) is an American actress and singer, most famous for her role as Italian-American Meadow Soprano, daughter of New Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano, on the acclaimed HBO television series The Sopranos.

DiScala's father is Steve Sigler, a Sephardic Jewish president of an amateur baseball league and her mother is Cuban-born Consuela Lopez, who converted to Judaism when she married DiScala's father.

She began acting and singing at the age of seven. Billed as Jamie-Lynn Sigler, she began her role as the smart but troubled Meadow Soprano in 1999.

In 2001 Sigler released an album of her singing, Here to Heaven.

In 2002 Sigler co-authored an autobiography, Wise Girl: What I've Learned About Life, Love, and Loss.

Sigler then spent five months on Broadway in 2002-2003 playing Belle in the production Beauty and the Beast. She has continued to appear in theatrical roles, such as Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.

In July 2003 she married her agent A.J. DiScala, and took the name Jamie-Lynn DiScala. She subsequently stated that she is a very traditional girl, and never had any doubt that she would take her husband's name after marrying, even professionally. But in September 2005, Sigler and DiScala announced that they are separating after only two years of marriage.

In 2004 she starred as "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss in the USA television movie Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss. In that same year, she had her first starring feature film role in Extreme Dating.

During the early production of The Sopranos, DiScala struggled with an eating disorder and is now a spokesperson for the National Eating Disorders Association.
