Susan Hampshire OBE (born on May 12, 1937 in London, England) is an English actress best known for her many film and television roles.

She first became famous after playing the lead in a 1962 BBC adaptation of What Katy Did. Soon afterwards, she was taken up by Walt Disney, and starred in The Three Lives of Thomasina opposite Patrick McGoohan and The Fighting Prince of Donegal. She would later appear opposite McGoohan in two linked episodes of Danger Man.

Her appeal was that of an "English rose", and few people were aware of her real-life struggle with dyslexia.

In her autobiography, Susan's Story, she publicised her experiences, and her work on behalf of dyslexics eventually led to her being awarded the OBE.

Susan Hampshire has been the wife of Sir Eddie Kulukundis since 1981. From 1967 to 1974 she was married to the French film producer Pierre Granier-Deferre - they have one son; a daughter died in infancy. Susan is a prominent campaigner in the UK on dyslexia issues. She was appointed a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in connection with that work.

Hampshire appeared in several long-running television serials, notably in the BBC's blockbuster, The Forsyte Saga (1967), in which she played Fleur. In 1969, she starred as Sarah Churchill in The First Churchills, and in 1974, she played the lead in another 26-part serial, The Pallisers. She played Esme Harkness in the 1997 TV series, The Grand.

She currently stars in Monarch of the Glen.

She attended the wedding of the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle in April 2005 with her husband.
